Do you care where your food comes from?

England Marketing have recently undertaken a consumer study to explore whether consumers care where their food comes from, how they shop and what importance they place on the UK becoming carbon net zero. 71% of respondents were aware of the Government’s commitment to net zero carbon by 2050, 62% did not feel they understood what this would mean.

We believe that consumers want to do the right thing and are prepared to make changes to do this, but the retailers are not making it that easy for them.

There are some opportunities for the industry to work with retailers and ensure that the consumers can play their part in taking environmentally friendly actions to ensure that food production is more sustainable.
