Welcome Sammy Seaman to ARC

Understanding the people behind rural businesses

We’re delighted to welcome Samantha (Sammy) Seaman to the ARC team.

Every rural business has its own challenges, but many of them come down to people. Whether a business is looking to grow, diversify, plan for succession or manage change, success depends on the people involved as much as the business plan itself.

Sammy is a People Strategist who works with agricultural businesses, helping owners, leaders and senior teams understand what is happening within their teams and what needs to change.

Sometimes the signs are obvious: good people are leaving, a manager is struggling, a team isn’t pulling together or succession discussions have stalled. But the underlying reasons are not always what they first appear to be. Sammy helps get beneath the surface, giving people the space to see things differently and find a way forward and holding them accountable.

Her background brings together two worlds. She began her career in London, working in investment banking, media and property, before spending ten years in a rural surveying company, working alongside landowners, farms and estates. Having grown up on a Norfolk farm and being married to a farmer, she also understands the realities of agricultural life from the inside.

Alongside her experience in business, Sammy has trained as a coach and uses positive psychology in her training. She brings these perspectives together to help people work through challenges, develop their leadership skills and build stronger teams.

Sammy has also developed two programmes specifically for agricultural businesses: Keeping Good People and Clearer Heads, Stronger Farms.

Her work strengthens ARC’s Training, Facilitation and Leadership offer, helping rural businesses make the most of their people as they develop and plan for the future.

We’re really pleased to have Sammy on board and look forward to working with her across the ARC network.
